Guild Management - the Officer Team
Those with whom the buck stops...
Most guilds have a team of people responsible for running
the guild on a day-to-day basis and for planning its
future activities and events. Converge is no different in
this regard and has a team of "Officers" who take on the
many jobs that a functioning guild needs to have done. The
following members comprise Converge's current management team.
Broliant -
Guild Master.
Broliant has been a member of Converge since its inception
and was one of the original members of the first officer
team that helped to shape and guide the guild during its
early months of existence.
When Drack, Converge's first GM, had to step down for
real world work related reasons, Broliant was unanimously
chosen by the other officers to take over the role. This
he did and he has held the position ever since.
Broliant will readily admit though that the continued success
and existence of the guild is as much due to the shared
efforts of the whole Officer Team as it is down to
any individual action he has taken over the years.
In order to remain "balanced and just" when assuming his
role as Converge's GM, Broliant is also the founder of
the super-secretive "Evil League of Evil," a complimentary
organisation where over-worked and heavily-stressed GMs
can let off steam and develop their plans for maniacal
world domination.
In addition to the many humanitarian awards Broliant
has collected on behalf of Converge for all the great
and good work done by the guild within the local community,
Broliant was also personally honored with the title of
"Sweden's Hero" after solving every problem faced by
the nation. If you've visited Sweden lately, you've
probably
already seen his likeness
via one of many posters, photographs or statues. His
image has even been taken into space!

Zmall -
Officer.
Zmall joined Converge in the early months of 2007 just as many
of our members were making their first explorations of The
Burning Crusade expansion. Formerly a member of Divine
Exile (Doomhammer-EU), Zmall brought a strong heritage of
raiding success to the guild which he puts to good use on a
daily basis.
Recognised for his thoughtful decision-making and easy-going
personality, Zmall was invited to become an officer of the
guild in the early summer of 2007 and has been an integral
part of the management team ever since. Responsible for the
guild's financial planning and investment strategies, Zmall
is currently designing his own "dream spire" - a den of
Warlockian excesses that should go "one better" than a certain
Trump Tower to become a symbol of his own indomitable success.
Sometimes known for his dark ways and often questioned in
matters relating to other warlocks going mysteriously
missing, nobody will deny Zmall his title of insanity or
his amazing ability to accrue achivements (aka: "cheese")
in his sleep. Literally!

Jawa / Epidemíc -
Officer.
Joining the guild at the same time as the now legendary
Banasea (see the hall of fame below!) after they jointly
decided to leave their previous guild, it was quickly discovered that
behind the Priestly exterior was a quick-witted court jester
with an ability to up the fun-factor of any raid by about
10 on the richter scale.
Following a brief spell with Chaldkydri, Jawa returned to
the fold in the summer of '07 and quickly used his expert
knowledge of the road ahead to become our de-facto raid
leader and a full-blown officer shortly after.
Harbouring an eternal dream in which he "wants to be a real
boy!", Jawa's priestly moments reached a climactic triumph
in a certain PVP arena smack-down where he got the best of
another priest famed for his regen ability. Vent trembled
with Jawa's victory cry of "Where's your MP5 now my good
man?!" (Language edited of course for family friendliness.)
With the start of the Wrath expansion, Jawa underwent a
shocking transformation and where once the youthful prince
of priestdom stood, now his place was occupied by a
grizzled Death Knight tank by the name of Epidemíc. Luckily
he still knows how to tell the odd joke or two.

Badlimp -
Officer.
Joining the guild as a mage called "Hairyman" in 2008, forever
cementing for himself the nickname "Hairy", our realm-move forced a
name-change and thus Hairyman the character was reborn as Badlimp.
The nickname stuck firmly however!
A veritable asset in raids due to his "can do" attitude and
approach, Badlimp was soon offered a role on the officer team
after several former officers had elected to step down "to spend
more time with their families," leaving a couple of convenient
vacancies to fill.
With a fondness for fish in all its guises and a desire to
meet every applicant with a "give 'im a chance!" response,
Badlimp is slowly building new traditions for the guild that
will remain for many years to come. Over-looking a somewhat
wicked tendency to portal people to Theramore and a rather obsessive
preoccupation with all things "Shiny", there's only one thing
left to say about 'Hairy'... "Go Mages!"
Postscript:
At the current time, Badlimp is currently taking a break from
raiding activities in order to travel the globe and spread the
word of Converge to the 'Hairy' peoples of the Earth. However,
fans of the 'limp' should have no fear... Hairyman will return
in the international hit-musical "The mage who loved me!" that
will be going on worldwide release later this year.

Xén -
Officer.
Joining the guild shortly after the release of the Wrath
expansion, Xén soon became a reliable and trusted member of
both our healing contingent and our 10-man off-night team as
he led much of our early success through normal mode Ulduar.
With a highly understated wit, Xén is definitely the member
most likely to utter the old standard; "but at least my martini's
still dry" retort should Ursula ever waterski into him.
Late 2009 saw Xén switch roles from Healing to DPS within our
raid team offering the team's rogues a new and infinitely
tauntable source of the valuable bleed effects needed to
satisfy their never-ending hunger for blood. Should you ever
raid with Xén, don't be afraid to ask him about them!
For the most-part however, Xén provides a slightly sterner
counter-point to Jawa's free-rolling style of raid-leadership,
thereby giving the guild differing options for differing
occasions.

Aspthal -
Officer.
Another Wrath-era recruit, Aspthal arrived within the guild and
quickly established a reputation for a fun and friendly
personality within the team. Before long, those same qualities
along with strong technical abilities led to an invitation
to join the ranks of the great unwashed, by which we mean
Converge's Officer team!
As one of the naturally politest and most organised members
of the team, Aspthal has proven to be a proper talent in
numerous 'public facing' roles including guild PR and
recruitment where the ability to interact with other players
without annoying them is a real bonus! Such it is then that
'Asp,' as he's known to us, has become a proper go-to
guy for all such matters.
Besides his main resto-druid based healing role within our
raids, Asp has also levelled several other characters to the
max-level during the Wrath era. Whilst this may not sound
unusual - many players have multiple alts after all - the fact
that Asp has multiple max-level druid alts is a constant
source of gentle fun. When the call goes out for an off-time
fun run where alts are allowed, we often hold bets to see who
can guess if Asp will bring a druid, a druid or maybe even
a druid to the party. You just never know!
Despite this strange obsession with the Druid class, Asp is
also a successful raid leader although we strongly suspect
he harbours hopes to rebuild Converge's team using nothing
but druids. It may only be a dream for now, but one of these
days...

Hall of Near Infamy
Not quite gone, somewhat famous...
Sometimes, a player will be with us long enough that their
deeds begin to become part of the living legend of the guild
and are memorialised long before the player sees fit to disappear
entirely from guild activity.
For these players, trapped as they are between the two
worlds of present and history, we have our hall of near-infamy.
It's a little area to celebrate those who've contributed
in the past and are still with us today. When these goodly
people retire, they'll likely be Hall of Famers. Probably!
Banasea -
Ex-Officer.
Banasea joined Converge within the very first days after
the creation of the guild. Formerly responsible for the
guild Deathwalkers Reborn which he ran with his two main
partners-in-crime, Jawa and Tykka, he chose instead to
join an end-game raiding guild and was recruited by Drack,
our very own recruitment ninja, mere moments later.
Wise beyond his years, Banasea was involved in all aspects
of guild management with a special talent for that
"Blue Sky" brainstorming that produced so many of our
wacky but ultimately great ideas.
In 2009 Banasea stepped down from his full-time officer
role but continues to appear in raids or the occasional
meeting behind the scenes with an insightful comment or
two at the ready. Still kinda crazy, it's never boring
waiting to discover the ingenious logic behind his latest
fantastical suggestion!
Beyond all this, Banasea was recognised in 2008 as being
Converge's one true "real real man" and its unchallenged
"King of Awesome". He's also the chief engineer of the
much lauded "Bana-Train" and owner of cats of somewhat
questionable nomenclature. Just don't ask him what the
guy in the old-people's home just did or for sympathetic
advice and a shoulder to cry on!

Hall of Fame
Our stars from the years gone by...
Like all guilds, Converge has seen a great many faces join
its ranks over the years in its continuing efforts to
progress through the game's content. Many faces simply
fade into history as they move on but some, no more than a
handful, remain with us in our memories for years to come.
To these few we dedicate places in our Hall of Fame, where
we celebrate knowing them briefly and remember the good
times we enjoyed whilst playing this game together.
Drack -
Original GM, Officer, "DPS".
At the creation of the guild, members interested in being
officers of the guild offered themselves for one of the open
positions and a vote was held to choose the first guild officers.
Those officers then voted among themselves to choose the first
GM of Converge and that individual was Drack, a clear and popular
winner.
Drack proceeded to lead and guide the guild through its early
success in Zul'gurub, Molten Core, AQ20, Blackwing Lair and
into early AQ40 and Naxxramas. Aided by the officer team, it
was clearly a winning formula.
Shortly after the release of The Burning Crusade expansion,
the man behind the face of Drack gained a real world promotion
that meant he could no longer offer the guild the same level
of leadership and so he chose to step-down from the position
and hand over the reins to another.
Since then, Drack has continously been a presence in the guild
and although the many new faces that have joined since his
era may not know him as well these days, the remaining members
of the guild's "Old Guard" still recall with mirth the day
he was asked to off-tank in MC to which one of the regular warrior
off-tanks asked somewhat incredulously "but how on earth will
you generate enough threat to keep aggro??!!" (NB: language
edited to meet family friendly guidelines!)
Drack's deadpan response came quickly and in an even tone that
indicated no sense of uncertainty...
"It's called DPS."
Letita -
Founding Member, Long-Time Officer..
Letita joined Converge just after its creation and quickly
became one of its best liked members thanks to her combination
of sharp wits, friendly demeanour and generous nature.
In the Spring of 2007 she won an open guild-wide vote to
find a new officer for the guild - by a landslide margin
no less - and remained an officer for the following two and
a half years.
In fact, just a couple of months into her officer-ship, her
winning ways were shown in full when she rallied the guild
through the toughest two months of its existence, ensuring
the long-term survival of the guild. She is rightly
considered therefore to be one of the proper founding
members of the guild as it exists today.
Letita has now moved on from Converge to enjoy a quiet
retirement from regular WoW play but no matter where she goes,
she is well remembered and greatly missed here in the
Converge Hall of Fame.

Raiding Schedules
It's all about the raiding, baby!
As an end-game raiding guild, Converge's entire structure
is setup around the concept of enabling our progress through
the end-game raid content.
To this end, we run official raids five nights per week on
Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Our official
raids begin at 20:30 server-time (with invites starting at
20:15) and continue until 23:30 server-time.
Members are expected to sign-up to our raids in advance using
our web-based sign-up system, to be on location by 20:25 and
to attend the full raid. Members are asked to attend three
raids per week on average and each month, those who have gained
an attendance record of 60% or better in the previous month
get promoted for the following month to our "Hero Member"
rank which confers higher priority on raid spots and loot drops
for the remainder of the month.
The guild considers Friday and Saturday evenings as "Official
Off-Nights" primarily for friends and family and thus never
runs an official progression raid on these nights.
However, we regularly run "Off-Time" raids either after our
main evening raid or on Friday/Saturday evenings to interesting
10-man locations for those with the time and the desire to
participate.
