Guild Management
Those with whom the buck stops...
Most guilds have a team of people responsible for running
the guild on a day-to-day basis and for planning its
future activities and events. Converge is no different in
this regard and has a team of "Officers" who take on the
many jobs that a functioning guild needs to have done. The
following members comprise Converge's management team.
Broliant -
Guild Master.
Broliant has been a member of Converge since the guild's
creation in the autumn of 2006. Originally an Officer of
the guild, he stepped up to the GM position in early 2007
shortly after the release of The Burning Crusade expansion
pack and has held the role ever since.
He remains an active raiding member of the guild and shares
the many responsibilities of managing Converge with the
rest of the officer team - such duties include website
admin, DKP management, in-game recruitment and the
occasional stint as a stand-in raid-leader.
Letita has been a member of Converge since just after its
creation and quickly became one of its best liked members
thanks to her combination of sharp wits, friendly demeanour
and generous nature.
Winning an open guild-wide vote in the Spring of 2007 to
find new officers for the guild, Letita has been part of
Converge's management team throughout with special focus
on the guild's social and community aspects.
Zmall joined Converge in the early months of 2007 just as many
of our members were making their first explorations of The
Burning Crusade expansion pack. Formerly a member of Divine
Exile, Zmall brought a strong heritage of raiding success to
the guild which he puts to good use on a daily basis.
Recognised for his thoughtful decision-making and easy-going
personality, Zmall was invited to become an officer of the
guild in the early summer of 2007 and has been an integral
part of the team ever since.
Banasea joined Converge within the very first days after
the creation of the guild. Formerly responsible for the
guild Deathwalkers Reborn which he ran with his two main
partners-in-crime, Jawa and Tykka, he chose instead to
join an end-game raiding guild and was recruited by our
very own recruitment ninja Drack mere moments later.
Wise beyond his years, Banasea is involved in all aspects
of guild management with a special talent for that
"Blue Sky" brainstorming that produces so many of our
wacky but ultimately great ideas.
Joining the guild at the same time as Banasea after having
jointly decided to leave DWR, it was quickly discovered that
behind the Priestly exterior was a quick-witted court jester
with an ability to up the fun-factor of any raid by about
10 on the richter scale.
Following a brief spell with Chaldkydri, Jawa returned to
the fold in the summer of '07 and quickly used his expert
knowledge of the road ahead to become our de-facto raid
leader and a full-blown officer shortly after.
Lyamblade join Converge at the close of 2007 with plans to be
the best tank he could for the guild. Through peerless raid
attendance and performance, he achieved that goal in record
time and demonstrated many qualities of an excellent all-round
member of the guild.
He was invited to become an officer in the March '08 hirings
and is expected to graduate to become the guild's second fully
rated raid leader, working in partnership with Jawa, in the
months immediately following.
Vanhelgan is what gets termed as part of the Converge "old guard"
having originally joined the guild when the guild was located
on the Doomhammer realm. With a full guild raiding history
prior to TBC, he took a break from Converge for several months
to allow a return visit to Doomhammer.
Old pastures proved not to be as they had been left and Converge
was delighted to welcome Vanhelgan back to its ranks after
character transfers in the opposite directions were arranged.
A committed regular and top-line healer, Van was promoted to
the officer rank in March '08 along with Lyamblade and Maën.
Paraply joined Converge following a similar former-life with
Divine Exile in early 2007, originally appearing to us all as a
mage by a different name. After experiencing a calling
to the priesthood, Paraply became a full-time raid healer
in time for the TBC endgame raiding commencement and has made
his mark in that arena ever since.
Continually active in raids, his humerous personality and
disciplined approach to raiding was recognised and led to
his recruitment to the officer team in the autumn of 2007.
To date MacGyver, as he prefers to be called, is widely
involved in all aspects of guild management.
Raiding Schedules
It's all about the raiding, baby!
As an end-game raiding guild, Converge's entire structure
is setup around the concept of enabling our progress through
the end-game raid content.
To this end, we run official raids five nights per week on
Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Our official
raids begin at 20:30 server-time (with invites starting at
20:15) and continue until 23:30 server-time.
Members are expected to sign-up to our raids in advance using
our web-based sign-up system, to be on location by 20:25 and
to attend the full raid. Doing all this counts as properly
attending one raid and full raiding members (those with our
standard "Member" rank) are required to attend at least
three raids per week - an attendance level of 60% essentially.
The guild considers Friday and Saturday evenings as "Official
Off-Nights" primarily for friends and family and thus never
runs an official progression raid on these nights.
However, we regularly
run "Off-Time" raids to places like Karazhan on Off-Nights or
after the official raids during the week for those with the
time and desire to attend them. Attending such raids does not
count towards the "3 raids/week requirement" however.
